Performers in the back row can get lost in a performance hall this size.  A good riser system helps to elevate those in the back rows of an ensemble or full band/orchestra, which serves several functions.  Elevating the back rows improves sound projection by directing the sound out above the heads of those in front.  Risers also improve both performer's ability to see the conductor and be seen by the audience.

This riser system was designed for a high school jazz band.  The ensemble plans on using it for both practice and performance.  The practice room is adjacent to this beautiful auditorium so they need the risers to be portable in order to be able to easily transport them back and forth between the rooms.

The Fan Configuration wraps the performers in an arc shape around the floor space where the conductor will stand

The Straight Configuration is another one of many ways to configure the risers
